Get fit with people you'll actually know

A social fitness club for Edinburgh. The sessions are why you turn up. The people are why you keep turning up. Beginners are expected, and there is coffee after every session.

Everyone on the list gets first refusal on places.

  • Muay Thai
  • Beginners expected
  • Coffee after every session
  • Socials in the diary
  • Every level, same room

Most gyms are a room full of strangers

You move to Edinburgh, or you start at university here, and everyone gives you the same advice. Join a gym, you'll meet people. So you join a gym. You put your headphones in, you nod at the same four faces for eight months, and you cancel the direct debit in March.

Meeting people as an adult is hard. Doing it while you get fit should be easier than that, and almost nothing is built for it.

What you're joining

The club is built around its sessions and the people in them.

  • Sessions, coached properly

Real Muay Thai, taught by someone who trains it. You need no experience, and nobody expects you to have any.

  • Coffee after, every time

It is already part of the week, so nobody has to be the one who suggests it.

  • Socials in the diary

Put in the calendar in advance, which is why they happen. Most of them involve no training at all.

Who it's for

Young professionals, students, and anyone who has recently moved to Edinburgh. Sessions are mixed, and every level trains in the same room.

  • You have never thrown a punch. Most of us hadn't either.
  • You trained somewhere cliquey or cold, and stopped going.
  • You want to be fitter, and you want a reason to show up that isn't willpower.
  • You are new to the city and finding that harder than you expected.
